The revised Schlachter Bible aims to reproduce the Word of God verbatim and clearly understandable to the reader. This translation is based on the traditional Masoretic Text in the Old Testament and the traditional Greek text of the Reformation in the New Testament, which was also the basis of the old Zurich Bible, the old Luther Bible and the King James Bible. The footnotes provide the literal translation in many places where an analogous reproduction was chosen in the Bible text for reasons of clarity and comprehensibility.
