Wuthering Waves 1.2 Update to Roll Out a 5-Star Resonator

Wuthering Waves is an anime-themed open-world action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world.

On August 15, 2024, the much-anticipated version 1.2 of Wuthering Waves will be launched, featuring a 5-star resonator at no cost as well as exciting new enhancements for a better gaming experience. Exciting tidbits of the upcoming release were shared through a post on the official Twitter account of Wuthering Waves.

Since its introduction to the gaming world on May 17, 2024, Wuthering Waves has attracted a significant number of players. The game’s creators, Kuro Games, have proven their commitment to improving gameplay by promptly responding to community suggestions, a characteristic that is evident in every new release.

Exciting Features to Expect in Version 1.2 “In the Turquoise Moonglow”

Custom Lock-On Capability: An option for tailored lock-on functionality will be available within the Options menu, giving players the ability to determine lock-on determinants – Movement Direction, Camera Direction, or Distance. Image Credit: Kuro Games

Introducing Hoverdroid: This new tool allows all characters to release projectiles, making it possible for gamers to meet shooting objectives without the need to change to Pistol characters. Image Credit: Kuro Games

Expanded Waveplate Storage: Waveplate crystals coming in excess when Waveplate storage is filled up will be stored, with the maximum limit capped at 480. Each crystal, equivalent to one Waveplate, regenerates every 12 minutes. Image Credit: Kuro Games

120 FPS Supported: The newest version of the game, 1.2, will include an option for players on PC to enjoy 120 FPS.
Showcasing of Resonators: With the new update, players will have the privilege of showcasing convene scenes of unlocked Resonators, a bragging tool to show off gaming prowess. Image Credit: Kuro Games

New Additions to the Illusive Store: The upcoming version will have new items in the Illusive Store, accessible through convene events.
High-Return Daily Quests: More points will be awarded for the daily quest to spend 180 Waveplates, increasing to 60 from a previous 20.

On top of the new features, two 5-star characters – Zhezhi and Xiangli Yao – will make their debut. Xiangli Yao, the latter, will be launched during the second phase of version 1.2, absolutely free of charge. An upcoming event “Moon-Chasing Festival” was also teased, with more details to be released in due time. Wuthering Waves is also expected to make its way to PS5, as earlier announced by Kuro Games.
