Kabam divulged the addition of a novel character to their Marvel Contest of Champions fight roster today. This introduction does not feature a hero under the radar or even a variant of a beloved regular. Instead, they're launching Isophyne, an entirely unique persona.

This might lead to a few raised eyebrows, however, this is not Kabam's initial instance of demonstrating their inventiveness with Marvel Contest of Champions. Previous characters like Venom the Duck, Civil Warrior, and Symbiote Supreme mark the game's history of in-house designs as opposed to deriving characters from comic lore.

Isophyne, the sentient ISO-Sphere adds intrigue to the game. Her purpose is to guard the Battle Realm from encroachers, including its former inhabitants, the Founders. Her story, as well as that of the Founders, will unfold throughout 2025, although this is all the detail available at present.

Not only is Isophyne a fresh addition, she also presents a game-changing mechanic. Unlike other characters who sequentially build up their specials, Isophyne has the freedom to choose her abilities. This may seem trivial, but it will significantly impact the dynamics of combat when playing as her.

Isophyne's introduction is a part of the ongoing ten-year anniversary celebration of Marvel Contest of Champions. It follows The Reckoning and various Halloween reveals. The most thrilling revelation for fans thus far is that 60 fps will be accessible to all players from November. This is a significant milestone for avid fighting game enthusiasts.
