Humans have lived in groups since primitive times. This is because living in a group and helping each other was more effective in various aspects, including protecting oneself from external enemies and producing and securing food, than living alone or with one's family.

They became villages, and when they came together, they became villages, and even towns and countries were formed.

Throughout this process, nearby residents continued to live together and help each other.

Even in the difficult post-war era, no matter how times change, local self-governing organizations in Japan have played an important role that cannot be replaced by other organizations.

In recent years, people's values ​​have diversified, and instead of placing importance on the individual, there has been an increase in the number of people who are not interested in a sense of community solidarity or human relationships.

However, the existence of neighborhood associations is being reconsidered due to the role they played during unprecedented disasters such as the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and the Great East Japan Earthquake.

In addition, the necessity of neighborhood associations is becoming more important in order to improve local welfare and promote community development in collaboration with the government due to the declining birthrate and aging society in recent years.
