Super Clash of Heroes has got to be one of the greatest fighting game of the time. Capcom has yet again showed its ability to create state-of-the-art fighting games.

[•] Gameplay - Super Clash of Heroes - Capcom vs. Marvel

First, the game is constantly moving unlike slower pace fighting games. Capcom vs. Marvel sends wave after wave of intense heart-pumping action. This game is easy to learn but it takes a lifetime to master. The best part of this game has got to be the dual character system. This allows you to select TWO characters from an arsenal of Capcom and Marvel heroes.

Furthermore, you get a “helper” character that comes in and does a little attack like dashing across the screen and damaging your opponent. Along with this character system, you can switch anytime to slowly regenerate a little of your character’s health, counter with your other character, control both characters at the same time, or use a devastating Team Super. The only problems I find with this game are the # of characters and Onslaught, the last boss. Although there are several secret characters, there are still fewer than 25 characters to choose from.

This is one of the best 2-D fighter game I have seen for its time. Varying backgrounds and a constant onslaught of “Hadoukens” and “Web Ball” add to the intensity of the game.

An absolute necessity in fighting games is good controls. Capcom vs. Marvel has an excellent control system making it suitable for all level of players. New players can use the innovative “Easy Mode” so they can execute specials and supers with less hassle and joy stick rotation, while higher level players can display skill and finesse with the “Manual Mode”

The cool thing about this game is the combo system. Players can unleash a flurry of slashes and kicks with a certain combination which can be also done in the air. One problem, one word: Mashing. Ahhhhh yes, the infamous “Button Mashing”. Sorry to say but this game is a button masher game, not that I do so myself, but it is sad when little 5-year-olds play this.
