Born on May 14, 1959, Robert Greene is an American writer and speaker best known for his books on influence, strategies, and seduction.

He is the author of five best-selling books: The 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Seduction, 33 Strategies of War, The 50th Law (with 50 Cent) and Mastery.

Robert Greene grew up in Los Angeles and studied at the University of California, Berkeley, then completed his studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received a bachelor's degree in classics.

Before becoming a writer, Greene estimates he worked 80 jobs including construction worker, translator, magazine editor, and Hollywood film writer.

In 1995, Green worked as a writer at Fabrica, an art and media school in Italy, and met a book producer named Joost Elfers.

Greene wrote a book on power for Elvers and wrote an exposé that eventually became The 48 Laws of Power.
