My name is Janan Abbas and I am a Syrian refugee. My family was no different from hundreds of thousands of other families, but the war that came mercilessly turned our hopes into a chimera.

My story begins with escape, it is about what we had to go through to get to the promised land. My story is about people who lost their home, homeland and respect. My story is about a future buried under a layer of ash and dreams scattered to the wind.
